Linz and Vilnius – European Capitals of Culture in 2009

Summary:

This year Lithuania's capital Vilnius and the Austrian city of Linz are the official "European Capitals of Culture".

Further information:

Like previous holders they will be hosting an array of artistic and cultural events. The aim being to advertise the cities and also bring inward investment through an influx of tourists.
