Strategic Europe continues its Capitals Series exploring how EU foreign policy is viewed by major non-European countries. It asked contributors to give a frank assessment of their country’s relations with the EU and rank five key issues in order of their importance in those relations. In this article, the spotlight was on Japan. The authors write that cooperation between the EU and Japan, which share values such as freedom, human rights, and democracy, is more important than ever given the inescapable presence of China. |
