Universities UK, a British lobby group, launched on 27 July 2015 a campaign defending the United Kingdom should stay as a full member of the European Union.

This campaign intends to show why membership of the European Union makes the UK’s universities stronger, ahead of the in-out referendum. According to head of the group, leaving the EU would also harm international academic collaboration.
