Launch of public consultation on the review of the European Disability Strategy

The European Commission launched a public consultation in December 2015 on the mid-term review of the European Disability Strategy (2010-2020).

This Strategy provides a roadmap for the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to which the European Union is a party.

It has identified eight main areas for action at EU level:
