Undoubtedly, human rights have become fully integrated into society to the point of becoming an essential element of it. Nowadays, all EU states already assemble these rights as fundamental rights of its citizens in their constitutions. But in order these human rights to be effectively respected, legal recognition is not enough. We have numerous examples of countries around the world which constitutions respect these rights formally, but in practice these are just mere statements of principles manipulated by the whim of their rulers. To counteract this phenomenon, over the last few years, the initiatives undertaken to face the violation of human rights have multiplied. The European Union has also participated in this task incorporating projects to the level of UE to highlight the importance of inherent human rights also in areas above the state.
