Further information: These institutions argued that the level of violence and the reports of human rights violations required an urgent response from the country's political leaders. They urged the continuation of dialogue between the Government and the Kamuina Nsapu militia in order to achieve stability in the region. The four organisations also highlighted the urgency to fully implement the political agreement achieved on 31 December 2016, including the appointment of a Prime Minister from the Opposition. Such progress would facilitate the holding of elections that should conclude the transitional period agreed to by the Congolese stakeholders. Four international organisations (including the European Union) showed on 26 March 2017 their deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the Kasaï provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). |
