Summary: The 42 members of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) convened on 10 November 2020 by videoconference for the 11th Trade Ministerial Conference. A Joint Statement was released following this meeting. Further information: Ministers launched three new trade and investment initiatives. They also called for the strengthening of trade ties in the Euro-Mediterranean area as a crucial element for the regional economic recovery following the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The UfM Trade Ministerial Conference stressed the importance of ensuring that Mediterranean partners can take full advantage of opening markets. The newly launched trade and investment initiatives supported by the EU and implemented by partner organisations should contribute to that aim. |
