Summary: The European Commission and the High Representative for Foreign Policy published on 19 July 2017 a joint report on actions taken and the way forward regarding the implementation of the 2016 Joint Framework on countering hybrid threats. Further information: The aim of this Report is to give an account of progress and next implementing steps on the actions in the four areas proposed in the Joint Framework. The document registers an increasing awareness and information exchange between Member States when it comes to security threats. It also highlights improvements in the protection of critical infrastructure and the financial system, as well as in countering violent extremism and radicalisation. The document also notes that work remained to be done due to the evolving nature of hybrid threats. |
