Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the CFSP, met the US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke, 28.7.2009.

Mr Solana and Mr. Holbrooke discussed recent developments in the region and in particular in view of the preparation of the elections in Afghanistan, which are due to take place on 20 August 2009. They also exchanged of views on the situation in Pakistan after their separate visits to both countries last week.
