Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the CFSP, met with President-elect of Bolivia, Evo Morales

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), meton the 5 January 2006 with the President-elect of Bolivia, Evo Morales.

Mr. Solana congratulated Mr. Morales on his overwhelming electoral victory and stressed the historic chance for Bolivia to tackle its problems through an inclusive and democratic approach. Mr Solana highlighted the importance for the new Bolivian governmentto reinforce political stability, democratic institutions and the rule of law.
He assured that EU would continue to assist Bolivia's efforts to stimulate economic growth, promote social justice and fight poverty.
