Italy revives border checks

Italy temporarily reinstated border patrols at the frontier with Austria on the 2 September 2015. The move followed an appeal from the southern German state of Bavaria, which had registered around 2,500 new refugees on the 1 September 2015, with a total of almost 4,300 new arrivals in the week.
