Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende has said Islamophobia must not affect the possibility of Turkey's entry to the European Union. He was speaking at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, 21 July 2004, outlining the Dutch EU Presidency priorities for the period July-December 2004.
