As leading political and religious figures meet in Brussels on 19 February 2004 to discuss the rise of anti-Semitism, three of them set out what they think is needed to address the problem. The first article is by the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi.. Mr Prodi writes that the conference must lead to a common strategy to combat racism ad xenophobia.
