A survey conducted for the European Commission by the European Opinion Research Group suggests that Ireland remains among the least informed on enlargement of all 15 Member States. In June 2001 the Irish rejected the Treaty of Nice in a referendum. The Treaty of Nice has to be ratified by all Member States by the end of 2002.
