IPCC International Panel on Climate Change – Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) – Synthesis Report, October 2014

The 40th session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 40) was held in Copenhagen, 27-31 October 2014 to adopt the Fifth Assessment Review (AR5) Synthesis Report and approve its Summary for Policy Makers.

Subsequently, in December 2014, a copy of the Synthesis Report will be presented to the 20th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 20) to the UNFCCC.

The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) provides a clear and up to date view of the current state of scientific knowledge relevant to climate change. It consists of three Working Group (WG) reports and a Synthesis Report (SYR) which integrates and synthesizes material in the WG reports for policymakers. The SYR was finalised on 31 October 2014.
