Initial assessment of the potential impacts on land use and environment associated with changes to CAP support

In 2010, the Inquiry into Future Support for Agriculture in Scotland ('the Pack Inquiry') made a range of recommendations to the Scottish Government on how financial support to agriculture and rural development could be designed in the future. This document is in response to Recommendation 15, which advised the Scottish Government to undertake further analysis to look at possible behavioural changes resulting from the changes in support and profitability, and the knock on effects on land use and the environment. The main objective of this analysis is to provide an initial assessment of the potential impacts on land use and environment associated with changes to CAP support.
