A crash train occured at 03:00 local time on Sunday 20 of November 2016(21:30 GMT Saturday 19th November 2016), near the city of Kanpur. At least 142 people died when the Indore-Patna Express came off the rails. After this event, the European Union expressed our sincere condolences to the government of India and to the families and friends of the victims of today's derailment of the passenger train in Uttar Pradesh in Northern India, which has caused the loss of many lives and hundreds of seriously injured. The European Union standed by the authorities and the people of India in dealing with this tragedy. |
