In search of business, Europe changes tone in Latin America

The financial and economic crisis in many EU / Eurozone countries has made such countries fare more keen to develop close trading and political relations with the countries of Latin America such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Venezuela and Uruguay.

The 1st EU-CELAC Summit / 7th EU-LAC Summit brought together European, Latin American and Caribbean Heads of State and Government in Santiago (Chile) on 26-27 January 2013, to address an Alliance for Sustainable Development to Promote Investments of Social and Environmental Quality.

During the Summit, the Leaders adopted a political Declaration and expanded the Action Plan previously adopted in the Madrid Summit in 2010 for bi-regional cooperation.
