At least 34 people were injured January 2010 in two days of racially motivated violence in Rosarno, a town of about 15,000 people in Calabria in the toe of Italy, after an attack on immigrants by a group of local youths sparked rioting and clashes with police.

The riots reflects social tensions and economic problems in the south of Italy.
