The FT reported that the International Monetary Fund mightbsuspend aid payments to Greece by the end ofJuly 2013 unless eurozone leaders plugged a €3bn-€4bn shortfall that had opened up in Greece’s €172bn rescue programme, according to officials involved in managing the bailout.

However, a later IMF statement said that no financing problems would arise if the current review of the country's bailout programme concluded by the end of July 2013.

Deutsche Welle reported on the 2 July 2013 that European bailout negotiators have said Greece has the rest of the week to prove to lenders it can deliver on the conditions for the next tranche of aid. Officials have signaled their doubt about the progress made.
