The European Parliament's plenary session approved a resolutin on 19 January 2016 calling for the money from state aid infringements to be transferred to those member states which suffered an erosion of their tax bases.

The report which received the backing of the parliament responded to the European Commission's annual competition report for 2014. It sets out general recommendations to improve competition and analyses corporate taxation practices and state support to banks in the wake of the financial crisis.
