There are many good things that you can say about the EU, but the common fisheries policies has not been successful in fulfilling its objective, the Ambassador of Iceland to the EU Thorir Ibsen said. He said there was 'nothing wrong' that Iceland, an EU candidate, would help this reform, as it has 'more experience in this field than the EU'.

In the interview the Ambassador also discusses Iceland's application to join the EU and the economic situation in Iceland.
