Today, the European Union receives the Nobel Peace Prize for its "contribution for over six decades to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe". The progress made has been outstanding, but more needs to be done – in particular with respect to the protection of human rights in the field of migration policy. In this policy area, migrants' human rights are being violated in some EU member states, with appropriate measures to put an end to such violations not always being taken. In this Policy Brief, Yves Pascouau outlines the current problems and proposes solutions to remedy the situation. |
