Human rights challenges in EU civilian crisis management: The cases of EUPOL and EUJUST LEX

This Occasional Paper uses the ongoing CSDP crisis management missions in Afghanistan and in Iraq – EUPOL and EUJUST LEX – as a yardstick for examining operational models chosen for high-risk CSDP civilian crisis management operations, and for assessing the degree to which these models are able to operationally integrate human rights dimensions.
