WANTED: a new spokesman to cope with a Commissioner with a tendency towards too much openness and transparency.

The vacancy has arisen because of John Iversen's decision to leave his current job as spokesman for controversial Environment Commissioner Ritt Bjerregaard after just ten months in the hottest seat in town and head for Strasbourg to take up a seat as one of Denmark's 16 MEPs. Iversen will replace Euro MP Lilli Gyldenkilde, who is retiring on health grounds in January, giving Bjerregaard little time to find a replacement. What qualifications should anyone thinking of applying for the job have? Experience in the areas of damage limitation and crisis management would certainly be a great help, if past experience is anything to go by.
