Heated chemicals debate continues with open letter to EU chief scientist

Eighty-one scientists sent a letter to the European Commission president's science advisor on 23 July 2013, urging the EU executive to listen to 'science' before regulating endocrine-disrupting chemicals, which can be found in everyday consumer products.

A strategy on endocrine disruptors is due to be published by the European Commission in autumn 2013. However, scientists from the EU and North America are concerned that the Commission’s scientific committees have not been consulted on the strategy.
