A two-day conference on Islamophobia jointly organised by the OIC General Secretariat and Wilton Park, a UK based conference centre working closely with the British Foreign Office, began 2 May 2006. This is the first international conference organised by the OIC on the issue as part of its efforts to counter Islamophobia in implementation of its Ten-Year Program of Action to Face the Challenges of the Twenty-First Century, which was adopted by the landmark 3rd Extraordinary Session of the Islamic Summit Conference held in Mecca in December 2005.
