The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has said the new European Union treaty is a good deal for Britain. Gordon Brown says the deal on the EU Reform Treaty protects British interests.

He told MPs that the treaty was in Britain's national interest as it protected opt-outs on foreign policy, labour rights, common law and tax and social security.

But the Conservative leader, David Cameron, once more challenged Mr Brown to put the agreement to a referendum and accused the prime minister of going back on a promise to do so.

What do you think of the treaty? Is it good or bad for Europe? Do you think it will make a real difference to people’s lives? Should there be a referendum in the UK?
