The rate of inflation for the euro-zone, as measured by the Monetary Union Index of Consumer Prices (MUICP=EUR-11), was 2.1% comparing March 2000 with March 1999. The MUICP is the average of the HICPs for the euro-zone Member States. The annual rate of change for the euro-zone rose from 2.0% in February 2000 to 2.1% in March 2000. A year ago, in March 1999, the corresponding rate was 1.0% . |
