On April 1st, the Enhanced Tactical Flow Management system failed. This system determines when and where planes can safely fly, land and take-off. European network manager Eurocontrol has put in contingency measures as a result, reducing the capacity across the by 10 percent. As a result half of the flights planned that day in Europe where delayed. The system was restarted later in the day after extensive testing.On 3 April 2018, a Europe-wide flight plan processing system failed affecting flights across Europe.
