Greener UK was a coalition of environmental organisations tracking the process whereby the United Kingdom left the European Union to make sure that environmental protections were not weakened or lost. It used the unique moment that Brexit offered to recommend ways to improve and enhance the UK’s environment.

Greener UK was a group of 13 major environmental organisations, with a combined public membership of 7.9 million. They were united in the belief that leaving the EU was a pivotal moment to restore and enhance the UK’s environment. It had many other supporting organisations and networks.

Its Brexit Risk Tracker monitored the progress across all areas of environmental policy as the country left the EU.

Greener UK proposed changes to the EU (Withdrawal) Bill to safeguard UK environmental protections and it worked hard to secure strong future UK legislation on the environment.
