Greek Cypriots stymie EU push to end isolation of Turkish north

Within weeks of joining the European Union, the Greek-ruled Republic of Cyprus is putting up fierce resistance to EU efforts to allow direct trade with the Turkish Cypriot north of the island, threatening to fight the European Commission proposals all the way to the European Court of Justice.
