Sources reported in August 2012 on Greek government plans to set up 'special economic zones' to attract private investment and help lift its debt-laden economy out of depression.

The proposal was one of 10 priorities, from accelerating EU-backed infrastructure projects to reducing bureaucracy for potential investors, aimed at creating jobs and putting Greece on track for sustained growth from 2014 onwards.
