The Memorandum of Understanding between the European Community and the Republic of Bolivia, relating to the Multi-annual Guidelines for the Implementation of EC Co-operation, was signed on 26 October 2001 by the Bolivian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Culture, Gustavo Fernández Saavedra and the Vice President of the European Commission, Loyola de Palacio del Valle Lersundi.

The Memorandum defines the multi-annual guidelines for the European Commission's financial, technical and economic co-operation programme in Bolivia for the coming five years, with a non-reimbursable overall amount of 126 million euros.
