Governance of the European Research Area – giving society a key to the lab

This topic was addressed at a conference in June 2003. Its conclusions were that Europe needs to step up the involvement of civil society in setting and implementing scientific policy in order to enhance the legitimacy and effectiveness of the European Research Area.
