Germany records strong tax revenues

The German government's unpopular plan for a three-point value-added tax rise in January 2007 was called into question again, 11 October 2006 when official figures showed that tax revenues had risen strongly in the third quarter, bolstered by the vibrant recovery of Europe's largest economy.
