Germany in radical shake-up of military

On the 25 October 2006 the German cabinet approved a 133-page white paper laying out the future role of the armed forces both at home and abroad. This is the first white paper of its kind to be published since 1994 and, as such, the first official assessment of the security policy situation to be undertaken in twelve years.
