Report of the annual spring report 2009 on the German economy from Germany's four leading economic institutes issued on the 23 April 2009. The report says that Germany is caught up in the maelstrom of a global recession. The German government would fail in its effort to preserve jobs in the economic downturn because it has misjudged the severity and duration of the crisis.
