German government approves €80 billion climate package

The German government approved on 3 December 2014 a wide energy policy package, signing off on the first Energiewende Progress Report, the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency (NAPE) and the Action Programme on Climate Protection 2020.

During the presentation of the plan, German Economic Affairs Minister Sigmar Gabriel stated that it aimed at integrating and connecting energy and climate policies.
