Thousands of opposition activists demonstrated in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi on the 7 November 2008 - their first major protest since the August 2008 conflict with Russia over Georgia's disputed regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Critics have accused President Mikhail Saakashvili of starting a war with Russia that Georgia could not win.

Mr Saakashvili is facing questions, both at home and abroad, about whether Georgia used indiscriminate force at the outset of the war in August.
