Innovation in Europe's regions. A conference was held in Brussels, 22-23.6.98 called 'Innovative regions in Europe', bringing together 200 delegates from regions participating in a 'Regional Innovation Strategy' (RIS) or a 'Regional Innovation and Technology Transfer Strategy' (RITTS) scheme. Both schemes, which are co-financed by the Commission, help regional authorities and development organisations to assess their regional innovation policies, identify areas for improvement and implement change.
