European Law Series:
The Longman European Law Series is a new series of topic-based books on EC law, under the series editorship of Professor John Usher. The series is aimed specifically at a student readership, though it is hoped that titles will also be of interest to academic researchers and practitioners. Each topic chosen is placed in an overall Community context, and while the primary perspective is legal, the related socio-economic and political contexts are also noted where relevant.

Two of the first titles in the series are:

International relations law of the European Union:
The European Union has emerged as an increasingly important entity in global international relations, but the legal implications of this have been the subject of much controversy and debate. This book attempts to meet the need for a clear and wide-ranging account of the law and practice of the EU's international relations. It covers not only legal personality, competence and legal order, but also provides a broader analysis of the development of a common foreign and security policy, other international aspects of the EU, and the EU's role as an international player. In taking this approach it thus aims to reflect the broad range of political as well as economic relationships that the EU has with the rest of the world, been moving away from a narrower 'external relations' approach.
