Article reports that French students and university lecturers were to hold demonstrations around France on the 24 March 2009, the latest step in a seven-week protest which French ministers fear could turn violent and trigger a wider anti-government movement. Students and university staff have been on strike since February 2009 against a flagship reform of President Nicolas Sarkozy giving institutions more autonomy from the state.
