Representatives from Greece's Federation of Enterprises (SEV) were invited to meet in France with the country's Mouvement des Enterprises (MEDEF), to discuss ways of improving the relations between business communities in the two nations.

As Greece was set to be in recession for the fifth year in a row, the meeting was an opportunity for stakeholders to seek for enhanced cooperation. The bilateral trade between the two countries was just 3 billion euros by 2015. More than 120 French companies had activities in Greece, employing almost 12,000 personnel. Greece represented 0.5% of French exports, and 0.1% of imports.
