France’s second presidential TV debate more surreal than enlightening

Reports and analysis of the second presidential TV debate held on the 4 April 2017 in advance of the first round of the Presidential Election in France on the 23 April 2017. Unlike the first presidential TV debate held on the 20 March 2017 at which only the leading five candidates took part, on this occasion the eleven candidates featuring in the election took part.

A third debate was planned for the 20 April 2017.
