France raises trade talks hurdle

France says it will block a global trade deal unless other countries make concessions over agricultural subsidies. Report of comments by French Trade Minister François Loos. However, other countries in the EU and elsewhere are more optimistic that European Commission proposals made on the 10 May will help to unfreeze the WTO negotiations logjam.
