Vicente Fox, the President of Mexico, visited France, Italy and Spain in October 2001, as part of a six-country visit to promote a free trade agreement between the European Union and Mexico, which has been in effect since July 2000. Prior to his departure for Europe, Mr Fox said that the turmoil resulting from the US-led war on terrorism had made conducting business as usual more critical than ever. |
