Follow the progress of this report through Prelex: {http://ec.europa.eu/prelex/detail_dossier.cfm?CL=en&ReqId=0&DocType=COM&DocYear=2006&DocNum=671} On 10 November 2006, the European Commission issued its fourth stock-taking report on the state of practical preparations for the introduction of the euro in the Member States with a derogation. In view of Slovenia's adoption of the euro on 1 January 2007, the Report notably focuses on the latest developments in this country. Cyprus and Malta, both of which aspire to adopt the euro on 1 January 2008, have recently adopted their national changeover plans. Both plans are examined in detail in the report. In most of the other Member States concerned, there have not been major developments in terms of practical preparations since the last report issued in June 2006. The report includes the results of the latest Eurobarometer survey on public opinion concerning the euro, Flash Eurobarometer 191. |
