Under new proposals from Uefa, European football's governing body, more than one television broadcaster would be allowed to purchase rights to the televised matches in each country. Uefa has offered to overhaul the €530m a year market for television rights to the Champions' League, the top European club competition, following an investigation by the European Commission which found the current system (where rights are awarded exclusively to one broadcaster per country) to be anti-competitive.
