The recent financial crisis and recession have had an inevitable negative impact on EU labour markets and unemployment levels. This has called into question the effectiveness of the flexicurity strategy in terms of supporting vulnerable workers. Eurofound's research focused on six EU Member States and analysed company initiatives targeting young workers, older workers and women. A total of 16 company case studies were carried out as part of the study. The countries were grouped as follows: France and United Kingdom (young workers); Germany and Slovenia (older workers); Italy and Czech Republic (women). |
